Kelly Gilmartin (b.1984) began photographing at the age of 13 when she received an old Nikon FA camera. While attending university in New York City, she shot black and white film and spent countless hours in the darkroom. Just before moving to Japan in 2005, she made the transition to digital format.  Her work has been exhibited in New York and Japan, and is included in private collections.
